July 24 leave Colorado Springs
July 23rd 2019
Before we head west tomorrow to the Durango area we had to make a trip to Rudys BBQ because everyone said this was the best BBQ but we went there several times and could not even park which tells me they must be right. So on July 23rd we went early for lunch and it was so worth it...
We gave our fire pit and left over wood to my sweet Chelsy.
July 24th 2019
On the 24th we are heading west. We had a great time in Colorado Springs, saw some great sites but now it is time to check out another part of Colorado. This is such a large and beautiful state with so many things we want to see. Today we leave Colorado Springs and head for the Durango, CO, area for the rest of the summer. Saying good bye was hard but we will always be friends with all these people.

I loved this sign, "Your mother is not here, please clean up your own mess"
Back at the camper and trying to start packing but someone decided she wanted a nap. LOL

July 20 Flash Flood
July 20th 2019 Flash Flood between Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs
Flash Flood in Colorado Springs
Flash Flood in Colorado Springs
Well shit now we have been thru just about everything, new experience is a flash flood. Warning came over phones and I felt bad for Ziva alone in camper so went and got her and took her with me. 5 minutes later Buddy is on radio telling me to get to camper NOW.
Well this was a shocker. We have been through tornado's, hurricane's, blizzard's, sand storms and so much more. But now we add to that list a flash flood. There is a canal in the RV park but it never had more that a little water in it after a good rain, well until today. The warnings came across our phones but I did not really think too much about it because of all the construction in the creek behind us which was to fix the flooding in Fountain Creek.
I was finishing work but decided I needed to get Ziva for some strange reason. I went to the camper, got Ziva and headed to our laundry room. I got out of the cart but never got to the door when Bud radioed me to get back to the camper NOW. What? Well this is what I saw when I got back. That is how fast the water came over the canal which is pretty deep.
I told him we did not have time move it now and everything is insured except Ziva and she is with me. Well everyone heard his radio call. The creek in pictures goes behind office and past our site. It has had no water in it all summer. The flash flood hit and went over the road towards our place and the big creek. We had rigs lined up waiting to get to sites, everyone here worked fast and great together, got soaked in the rain but all settled down, mess got cleaned up, what you see in pictures are after we cleaned up and the creek is finally calmed down BUT it was raging with a lot of water before. Everything happened so fast that I did not get any pictures but Mary did and she got a great video too.
All is well and Ziva is safe and we are too. Now we add flash flood to our experiences.

Made a huge mess |
This all tired Ziva out and she took a nap.
