My mother passed away recently, she would have been 90 years old in November. This was a sock monkey I sent her in an Easter basket, the nurses said that it was never far from her so I thought it appropriate to take it on our trip, giving her another adventure. Inside the velvet bag are a few of her ashes and the heart locket on the bracelet around monkeys neck also contain a few ashes.
we are all packed an ready to go.
This is in Greensboro FL, I thought this was an awesome way to honor those that served our country. Each cross had their name, rank, branch and war. This went on quite a ways.
This is the big bridge we crossed to get to the beaches.
We are at the state park campground and again, like the other Florida state parks we have camped, this one too is beautiful. The only possible thing I don't like is that the showers were small, no place to put stuff (soap, clothes, etc.) and there were only 2 stalls which were very busy. But this would not stop me from coming back. Later today we will check out the beach.
And Nana Banana (which is what all the grandchildren call my mother) is settled in to.
Almost all setup just need to do inside now.
Princes Ziva is all cozy and watching Buddy who is on the other side of the bike putting the rear part of his shifter back on that fell off, yeah I know I know what would a trip be with out a darn mechanical issue.
Tuesday May 31st was our play day and we rode about 2 hours to Fort Pickens & the Gulf Islands National Seashore. Fort Pickens is the largest of the four forts built to defend Pensacola Bay, Florida. I was built in 1834 and named after Major General Andrew Pickens of South Carolina.
