June 11 We left Mesa AZ and headed to Salton City Cali. This was our first time to the deserts and what a lesson we learned. First this is probably slow season, the place we thought we would stay was run down and nothing was open and sign said to see a certain lot after 6 pm to register. But it was so windy we decided to look else where. We called one campground and the nice lady there explained that they had lots but a tent was not a good idea because of the winds they get. The winds were horrible and pushed us all over the road. So we went back a ways, found a nice campground and it was sheltered from the winds. The campground was the Oasis Palms RV Resort and the prices were very good and people very friendly and the price was good too.
